About the Author

Lachlan King is an Australian Sydney-based psychologist and poet. His poetic work explores intimacy, identity, desire, reinvention, and the quiet complexities of modern life. Drawing inspiration from European summers, inner-city nights, dance floors, coastlines, and moments of solitude, his writing moves between vulnerability and wit with cinematic imagery and emotional precision.

Dreams Submerged in Broad Daylight is his debut poetry collection - a deeply personal body of work that captures the tension between fantasy and reality, longing and freedom, grief and becoming. Across themes of love, masculinity, creativity, and self-discovery, King's poems invite readers to linger in the beauty and contradictions of being human.

When he isn't writing, Lachlan works as a psychologist, spends a lot of time at the gym, and can usually be found with a journal in hand, chasing good coffee, or wandering through life in search of his next poem.
